Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette is a volunteer-driven organization.

Without the help of dedicated Habitat volunteers, we would not be able to provide homes to low-income families in the Lafayette area. People from all walks of life are invited to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with future homeowners.
We appreciate individuals and groups who can help us for a day, but we are always searching for committed volunteers to join our team and assist on a regular ongoing basis. By doing so, we can achieve our vision of a community and a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Assist with Builds

From laying the framework to painting trim, we need help building Habitat homes from beginning to end. No matter your level of construction experience, we’ll put you to work.

Volunteer at the ReStore

All of the funds made from the ReStore support Habitat projects and houses.  ReStore volunteers can help with product preparation, customer service, donation pick-ups, stocking of shelves, store cleanup…

Make Meals for Volunteers

Our volunteers work hard, and we like to support their work by feeding them. Individuals are welcome to make or purchase meals for our groups, and restaurants are invited to cater or donate items from their menu. We gather for a meal and fellowship with volunteers and partner families every Thursday.

Build a Freedom Ramp

Building a Ramp is a wonderful way that volunteers can join together on a project that does not demand a large time commitment yet offers an immense improvement in quality of life and freedom for a local resident.  There are hundreds of people in the Greater Lafayette area who are homebound for lack of a wheelchair ramp. Construction work under the direction of a Habitat Project Manager can be done by a wide age and ability range.  Very little skill and no tools are required.  Just bring a loving heart and willing hands.

Volunteer Waiver

For safety reasons, all Habitat volunteers must sign a Volunteer Waiver.
