Lakeshia has lived in Lafayette her entire life and has long dreamed of owning a permanent home for her family. After learning about Habitat for Humanity, she felt the program offered the stability and security she has always wanted for herself and her daughters.

A hardworking mother, Lakeshia works in manufacturing and takes pride in being the best mom and person she can be. She is dedicated, resilient, and focused on creating a safe, comfortable home for her family.

Lakeshia is the proud mother of two girls: Jayla, who is 14, and Raelynn, who is 2. Jayla attends online school through Vprep and is currently in 8th grade. She enjoys learning about makeup and hair and dreams of becoming a cosmetologist and esthetician one day. Raelynn attends ABA therapy and loves watching Dora, stacking items, and carefully lining things up.

Through the Habitat for Humanity program, Lakeshia looks forward to building more than just a house — she is building a future for her family. Owning a Habitat home will give her daughters a stable place to grow, learn, and feel safe, while allowing Lakeshia the pride of knowing she helped create a home they can truly call their own.
