Spirit Cooper grew up in Lafayette and has a special connection to Habitat for Humanity. Her mother became a Habitat homeowner in 2004, allowing Spirit to grow up within the Habitat community and participate in events. Now, she is excited to continue that connection by partnering with Habitat to become a homeowner herself.

Spirit is a hardworking mother and dietary cook. She describes herself as family oriented, caring, and always willing to help others. In her free time, she enjoys crafting and listening to music with her son.

Spirit describes her son, Royce, as outgoing, kindhearted, caring, and very smart. Royce especially enjoys math and loves showing off his Michael Jackson impression.

For Spirit, homeownership means having a place she and Royce can truly call their own. She looks forward to creating a stable foundation for her son while also beginning to build generational wealth for his future.
