Exciting News: Saul and Katie Selected for 2025 Apostle Build!

We are thrilled to announce that Saul and Katie have been chosen as the Partner Family for the 2025 Apostle Build ! This incredible opportunity will help transform their lives and provide them with a fresh start.

Saul, a dedicated worker in the local manufacturing industry, has always dreamed of creating a stable home for his family. Katie, his bright and motivated middle school daughter, is eager to build a better future in a safe and nurturing environment.

After experiencing the heartbreak of losing everything in a devastating fire, Saul courageously applied to the Habitat for Humanity program. His determination to rebuild has now led to this exciting new chapter for their family. With the support of Habitat for Humanity, Saul and Katie are one step closer to achieving their dream of a safe, stable home where they can thrive.

This partnership is about more than just building a house—it's a testament to God's people coming together to strengthen the community. Seventeen churches, along with Lafayette's three Chick-fil-A locations, have all joined forces on this journey!

Completed:  Three Homes for                 The Union Build

Danelle and Liz have both had their house blessings, marking the joyous completion of their beautiful new homes, and now they’re eagerly awaiting the final touch to their neighborhood. Their third neighbor, Joela, is about to complete the trio of newly built homes in the heart of the Lincoln Neighborhood. This marks a significant milestone, not just for the trio of homeowners, but for the entire community. These three homes stand as a testament to the skill, dedication, and hard work of our local trades unions, who have poured their expertise into bringing these homes to life. From the foundation to the finishing touches represents the pride and craftsmanship of the workers who built them. It’s a moment of true achievement, with these homes now standing side by side, creating a sense of unity, strength, and community in Lincoln. Everyone eagerly anticipates the next chapter of what promises to be a close-knit and thriving community.

The need for affordable housing is undeniable, and Habitat for Humanity’s mission is more important than ever. I am continually inspired by the incredible community involvement in every house we build and every home repair we complete.

Habitat brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. These core values are reflected daily in our work, both locally and globally. We unite volunteers and future homeowners from diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and stories, acting as a bridge to advocate for affordable housing.

As we enter the spring building season, we’re excited about new partner families, new builds, and new collaborations to provide affordable housing. This year, we are especially looking forward to our Apostle Build with 17 area churches, the Banker Build supported by numerous local banks, and the Women Build, where nearly 400 women will come together to construct two homes side by side. Additionally, we’re gearing up for the Boiler Up Build and the Bi-Centennial Build this fall.

Over the past 40 years, we’ve made incredible strides—building 355 homes and completing nearly 1,400 home repairs. Every day, we help families build stability and prosperity through homeownership. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and partners—through their time, labor, and financial contributions—we are creating lasting change and strengthening our community.

Your continued support has fueled our mission, enabling us to drive progress and build a stronger, more vibrant community for all.

Thank you.

BRUSH WITH KINDNESS

Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette’s home repair program, A Brush with Kindness, reflects our mission of “making a difference through kindness.” While Habitat has traditionally focused on building new homes, our growing emphasis on home repairs helps fulfill our vision of “a world where everyone has a decent place to live.”

Through this program, over 1,300 people in the Greater Lafayette area have received critical repairs for safer, more secure, or accessible homes. For example, Mel and Debra, who are wheelchair-bound, were at risk of losing their home insurance until volunteers repaired their damaged gutter and cleared their carport. As a result, Debra said, “It feels like we’ve gotten our home back.”

You too can make a difference through kindness. As Proverbs 19:17 teaches, “If you help [those in need], you are lending to the Lord—and he will repay you!”

Thank you for being a vital part of our community. Your generosity and kindness bring warmth and renewal, spreading love and safety this spring.

As we celebrate Easter and the resurrection of God, we are reminded of the hope and new beginnings this season brings. Your spirit reflects the joy and light of this time of rebirth.
