Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette not only builds, rehabs, recycles and repairs homes, we are passionate about loving and supporting our partnering families. A family who has qualified and is moving toward Habitat homeownership, will discover that it is an intense and demanding process.
A lot of paperwork and documentation must be provided.
Sustainable and ongoing employment/income must be verified.
Completing “Financial Management” and “Responsible Homeownership” workshops are required.
Completing hundreds of hours of sweat equity is physically demanding.
This is why, Habitat’s Family Support Services Staff are so intentional to come along side and track with each family; monitor their progress; work with them to accomplish all of their assigned tasks; encourage them; counsel them; challenge them in their journey of becoming a Habitat Homeowner.
Not only does Family Support Services stand with partnering families through the process of becoming a Homeowner, but staff continue to maintain a strong relationship with families ongoing.
Habitat Homeowners discover that they have joined the Habitat family, and that we are here to share in their new and wonderful life of homeownership. Whether celebrating special moments in their lives, providing their kids an opportunity to attend Camp Tecumseh, helping them with home repairs if needed, the annual treats hand-delivered on Thanksgiving and Christmas… Habitat’s ministry of relationship, accountability and love continues.
Habitat’s Family Support Services simply connects in a way that offers support for individuals and families seeking to fulfill their own dreams of becoming and being homeowners.
