Conserve the environment and support the Habitat mission by donating to our ReStore.
Whether you’re redecorating, downsizing, or simply getting organized, Lafayette’s ReStore will happily accept your home improvement-related donations. By donating, you can support the Habitat mission to improve communities and provide homes for hardworking, low-income families, as well as prevent adding reusable materials to landfills.
We accept donations of furniture, working appliances, and building materials. Our donation criteria is listed below.
All appliances must be clean, neutral in color, and complete with all parts.
We cannot accept dishwashers, televisions, or computers.
We accept both single and complete units. Units must include all shelves and doors and be free of stains, mold, and rot.
We accept interior and exterior doors that are in good condition, with or without hardware and frames. Doors cannot have rot, cracks, broken glass, split wood, etc. Metal doors must be free of rust.
We accept interior door knobs but can only accept exterior door knobs if keys are included.
We only accept new, unused electrical wiring and accessories. The ReStore cannot accept any computers, old console-type TVs, or monitors.
We do not accept used flooring.
We accept carpeting that has not been installed and is at least 5’ by 5’.
We accept vinyl that is in good condition, does not have tears, and is at least 5’ by 5’.
We accept tile that is clean and in good condition. All tile pieces must be whole. We cannot accept custom cuts.
We accept leftover wood flooring and require a minimum of 3/4 of a box.
We accept most types of furniture. Pieces must be in good working condition and be free of stains, mold, and rot.
We accept new and used hardware for cabinets, doors, and construction.
We accept styrofoam sheets and rolls of insulation.
We accept light fixtures that are in working condition with all of their parts.
Common lumber must be in full lengths, and there cannot be rot or nails.
We accept full and 1/2 sheets of plywood.
We accept siding that is a minimum of 5’ in length and require that at least ½ a box be donated.
trim and moulding
We accept trim/moulding that is a minimum of 4’ in length and has not been previously painted.
Mirrors and glass must be framed or part of a medicine cabinet or furniture. We do not accept unframed mirrors and glass.
Nails and screws must be unmixed, in their original packaging, include at least 1/2 of the box, and free of rust.
We accept new and gently-used plumbing materials.
tubs and showers
We accept fiberglass and steel tubs and showers that are in good condition and do not have cracks.
We accept sinks that are neutral in color, clean, and in good condition.
toilets and commodes
We accept toilets that are neutral in color, clean, and in good condition with all parts.
We accept pipe that is more than 5’ in length.
We accept new bundles of shingles with a 1/2 bundle minimum.
We accept new rolls with a 1/2 roll minimum.
We accept full pieces without rust, dents, or damage.
New, unopened rolls of wallpaper and border are accepted.
We accept hand and power tools that are in good, working condition.
We accept windows if the glass is intact and screens if they are not torn. We prefer double pane and vinyl windows.

If you would like to drop off a donation, our staff and volunteers will be available to assist you at the following times:
Tuesday – Friday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
free donation pick up
While you’re welcome to bring your donations to the store, we are also happy to pick up and transport large donations at no charge to you. Contact the ReStore to schedule a time that works for you.
